Nicole Dixon’s first book, the collection of stories High-Water Mark (Porcupine's Quill, 2012), was shortlisted for an Atlantic Book Award. In the winter of 2015, Nicole was writer-in-residence at the Pierre Berton House in Dawson City, Yukon. She won the Bronwen Wallace Award for emerging writers, and has been shortlisted for The Journey Prize. She is currently writing essays about farming and feminism along with a new collection of stories set in and near New Waterford, on Cape Breton Island, where she lives.
